Mike Trout has been the best player in baseball the last 10 years if you look at it from an overall perspective. Others are catching up as he gets older now. Frank Thomas was the best hitter in baseball for a while. Joe Torre was elected as a manager, which is fine. I think he should have been elected as a player years earlier. It is funny I have three catchers surrounding Brook Robinson. Robinson, I think was the greatest fielding 3rd baseman of all time. Fangraphs WAR agrees. We are still in an area where these players weren’t quite inner circle, but they are easily hall of famers.
